Tom Martino . electrician . On the website there is a list of things we can work on and a training plan, what I want to know is what comands do you suggest we do first, If you have done clicker training what did you do first, do you wish you did a different comand first, why? any other tips wuld help, thanks!!!on the website there is a list of things you can look at so far I have only looked at training plans, and raising a clicker puppy, I just saw the training articles and it loks like they have some good tips as well, But I still need as much advice/tips as I can get, oh and she already knows her name, her name is Promise. thanks again!!!Bunny slipper; with your other dog try putting the clicker under a pillow or sitting on it,or get a sweatshirt with a pouch pocket and then click it, it doesn’t sound as loud, also I have heard f clickers that make diferent noise, I have heard of a clicker that makes a little bird chirp, and different sounds like that, you should look into it. thanks!Best answer:

I have heard and seen it work. Try not to let the dog ‘see’ the clicker. I got tired of keeping the clicker handy. boston local seo . I was always misplacing it!Make sure the treat/reward gets to the dog immediately at/after the click.Good luck!!

I clicker-trained our other dog, who was 12 years old when we got her (so much for not being able to teach an old dog new tricks). She took to it VERY well. The big issue is timing – you have to make sure that you click at the right time, so the dog knows exactly what it did that got the click and the treat.

We did Sit, Down, Roll over, Speak, Away, and Come with the clicker. “Speak” was the most fun, because it took a behavior she did naturally – doing the Schnauzer “woo woo” noise when we were getting her dinner ready – and turned it into something she would do on command.

Our current dog is afraid of high-pitched, sharp noises, so we haven’t been able to clicker train her. =(

my mom tried clicker training years ago and her small dog just ran away whenever she would click it because the noise hurt its ears so bad..

i do know a good training treat is bil-jac.. my dog seriously would do anything for this stuff… it works great!!

I have used the clicker, and with my 1 dog that is clicker savvy, it has been GREAT! My primary dog, however, does not care for the clicker, so I don’t use it.

I have many friends who do clicker training, 2 that have been to Bob Bailey’s chicken camp, and are clicker KINGS/QUEENS! They have done some amazing things with their clickers. One guy has his dog assuming ballet 5th position- his dog was also in the move “Big Fish”- all trained with clicker. So, yeah, if you do it right, it’s great. What I like about it, is that you can actually “see” the dog thinking- it’s GREAT fun! :)

The website clickersolutions is awesome, and the one my friend (who’s dog was in Big Fish) recommends and refers to on a regular basis.

Go for it, and have fun!
